NSRA | Street Rod Nationals East ’23
For 49 years Hot Rodders and Custom cars enthusiasts have gathered at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals East to partake in all things Vintage cars. It’s held at the Historic York Fairgrounds, a sprawling venue with beautiful old buildings that make for great backdrops for these even more beautiful rides.
It’s good to see the quality of the rides getting better each year. New builds, updated technology and even more traditional rod builds too!
The Nationals are for cars 1988 and older. I was told there was over 3500 cars at the show for the weekend.
The video below shows the massive amount of machines I shot that day. Over 2500 photos were taken and about 6 miles walked at the Fairgrounds to get them.
Within the video are a few of the interviews I did with some of the car owners about their rides.
As much as I love the cars, I also love hearing about the story behind the car. Hearing about the build or the history of the car and the passion of the owners… or the caretakers as many like to be called. With that in mind I made a conscious effort to photograph the people with their cars. I was surprised how well that went and looked and am going to do it more often.
It’s a good sign to see the younger crowd enjoying hot rods too. Maybe there is still hope for this hobby not dying off?
I am hoping to do a story with this car this year if anyone knows who owns it?
I hope you enjoy the photos and video.
Please get in touch with me if you are going to the 50th Street Rod Nationals East. Id like to talk with more people to get the story behind their cars.
And I am also taking bookings if you’d like me to shoot photos of your car too.
See you there!
