Porsches are special cars. Their shapes, design, performance and community make the Brand legendary.
The 930 Porsche or the Widowmaker as it was called back in the day, was once the top of the line 911 that Porsche made. The factory turbo charged, whaletail-ed, beauties are still extremely expensive versions of Porsches.
When we heard Rob Ida was customizing or updating a 930 turbo we had to document the process and the results. This Motor House produced video for the Porsche Club of America is that build.
It’s narrated by Custom Coach builder Rob Ida himself during the build and with Panorama Magazine Photographer Michael Alan Ross during the Photoshoot. Its a good insight into how 2 craftsmen approach their work. One the Coach Builder and the other a renown Photographer who shoots the Porsche brand.
Rob Ida is a true Automotive Artist and Craftsmen. The amount of detail he puts into builds is impressive. This Porsche has custom body panels with the focus on restyling the nose and rear bumpers losing the 1980’s government safety standards look. The car has been lowered, and the motor now has 500 horsepower. The massive tire and wheel combination consist of Pirelli P7 Corsa Classic semi-slick tires and custom-made (by Braid) Fuchs-style wheels. Creating an aggressive stance and updated look.
We look forward shooting more stories on Porsches and someday own one and customize it ourselves.
If you know of a unique Porsche or a good story with a Porsche, we’d love to hear from you.
Thanks to the PCA for supporting Motor House and giving us the opportunity to shoot these beautiful cars.
